Tanzania Cotton Board
About TCB
Statutory regulator for the cotton sector under the Cotton Industry Act, Chapter 201 (amended as recently as March 2025). Licenses seed-cotton buyers, ginners and lint exporters; designates buying posts and announces indicative minimum prices; classifies and grades cotton lint; and issues export permits per shipment. Cotton is sold to licensed buyers at Board-designated buying posts and through formal contract-farming/outgrower schemes, not a centralized auction.
