Zanzibar's semi-autonomous standards body, SADCAS-accredited (ISO/IEC 17025:2017) for chemical/food testing. Maintains the compulsory Zanzibar National Standard ZNS 332:2020 "Black pepper and white pepper (whole and ground) — Specification," directly governing the quality of Zanzibar-grown pepper, alongside related compulsory standards for cardamom, cinnamon, turmeric and chillies.
